SQL Nitro optimizes SQL Server's use of the TCP/IP protocol so it works more efficiently. By performing this optimization it reduces network bandwidth and load by up to 85%, allowing five times the amount of traffic to flow across your WAN or LAN connection. This unique technology runs between SQL Server and its clients, turning the fixed length Tabular Data Stream (TDS) protocol that SQL Server uses into a dynamically compressed and optimized data stream.

Natively SQL Server packets are 4096 bytes wide, SQL Nitro can fit as many as 15 or more packets into the same space!
